Seaside Papery

The other day I ventured out to The Headquarters in downtown San Diego. Have you heard of it? It’s the old police headquarters, right next to Seaport Village. The marketing materials are all pretty swanky, so I’ve been wanting to check it out for awhile. It was much smaller than I thought it was, and there were a number of stores that were totally touristy. You know, sort of like how Seaport Village is. Shirts that say San Diego and stuff. Only people from the mid-west buy that stuff anyway. KIDDING!

I almost didn’t go into Seaside Papery, because it looked like one of those stores. But oh boy, I am so glad I did! Check it out…

I hear they have custom invitations, but that’s not what interested me. I was just blown away by their interesting, quality stuff! Affordable, to boot. Not cheap, but not out of control, either. I bought the most yummy smelling candle I’ve ever laid nose on. The scent is pineapple cilantro. Just try telling your nose what that smells like! It’s heaven in an adorable tin can. I have it on my bathroom counter, trying to mask out the litter smell. How’s that for fancy? Ha! (C’mon folks, cats poop just like the rest of us. They just don’t know how to flush.)

I’m kicking myself for not buying that French print up there. It would’ve been killing it in my kitchen. Would I go back to Headquarters to spend an afternoon? No. But I would totally go back to Seaside to buy someone an awesome present. And pick me up a little something, too. Like that cocktail book! Cocktail and appetizer recipes for an entire year of swanky cocktail tasting parties. Yes please!

Hmmm….now I’m really curious what’s in that Pinch “Mini Emergency” kit for her. The mind reels.

      Hi Jori,
So glad you found my post, your shop is truly great! It’s been way too long since I’ve been back, I think I need to make it a priority :)
